Transformational Leadership and Satisfaction

The theory of transformational and transactional leadership has been around for quite a while. Appropriately, Judge & Piccolo (2004) did a meta-analysis using a large number of studies.

Among other things, they found that transformational leadership correlates highly with follower satisfaction with the leader (r=.71, N=4339). Of course, no causality can be established, but it speaks for the importance of the concept.
